Training continues .....

Sparky has been with us almost two weeks now and I thought I would update his forever family on how he is doing with training.

Sparky is a fast learner and really tries to please you. He has mastered SIT and is doing great with the DOWN command. We are now working on STAY and WATCH. He also does great with COME especially when you clap your hands when you say it. It amazes me that he will stop playing with Cricket and come to me when called.

I move very slow with house training and he now has access to the kitchen, dinette and part of the family room. He has not had any accidents. I do take him out for a quick potty break every 3 hours. He has spent up to nine hours at night in his crate without an accident. I also crate the dogs during the day when I leave for errands. He is very quiet in our home and does not bark when we come home or at visitors. He is not a chewer and is respectful of our home.

I use a Gentle Leader Easy Walk Harness when taking our daily walk and he does very well. He does pull a bit with a regular collar but this is getting better. Sparky does sometimes bark when he sees another dog during our walk and we are working on this. When he meets the dog, he is fine. He walks nicely along side my dog. We hope to visit the dog park this week.

Hope this lets you know where we are at with Sparky. He is such a fun, affectionate little guy and I think is doing great for only two weeks with us. Who knows what kind of environment he came from.
