Prissy was rescued from a shelter in Georgia. We do not know why she ended up at the shelter. She did have fleas quite bad and had to be given an antibiotic to help clear up skin irritation from the fleas. Her skin has healed nicely and she is doing great. Someone must have cared for Prissy at some point. She is very friendly and affectionate. She was also found to be spayed. I would say only about 10% of the dogs the rescue receives have been fixed prior to rescue. This is a huge issue in the south. They just do not have their dogs fixed which is a large factor in southern shelter overcrowding. Prissy stayed at a rescuers home until transport could be made to Fluffy Dog Rescue. Her first foster mom just adored her saying she was one of the best dogs she has ever had in her home. Prissy was set to go to a foster home in Wisconsin and the foster became ill so she has been staying with my friend Lisa at her doggie daycare. She has done great there but it is time for her to go to a home. I have adored Prissy from the day she arrived and will be picking her up to foster this week. Stay tuned......
