Originally, there were 11 dogs coming up from Alabama, four of them are the last of the poodles from the breeder. (Colin, Thomas, Clive, Schuster, Simon, Stevie, Jethro, Jackson, Chapman, Blue and Jolene) Also coming is Missy the standard poodle. Well, Lori who runs the rescue must have been feeling weak (easy to do when one hears their stories). Also coming now is Callie who is pregnant and due to deliver in a week or two and Belle and her 5 puppies who are 3 weeks old. We hate to transport dogs like Callie and Belle but we had to get them out of the overcrowded shelter and no one else stepped up. The dogs will be bathed, new pictures taken (weather permitting) and I hope to have the new pictures loaded onto petfinder tonight along with a few notes on them. A big thank you to Lisa who owns Tailwaggin doggie daycare in Hartland for letting us use her facility for baths and for boarding a few of the dogs for us. Thanks also to the volunteers helping out today with transporting, washing, leash holding for pictures etc. Lots of trips to the vet this week and most will be heading to their foster homes. We still do need foster homes for the four poodles. For information on fostering, there is a link on the site. All expenses are paid, the rescue is just looking for a loving home to care for them while they wait for a forever home. If you would like to read more about this wonderful transport process done by volunteers, check out this link.....

We are always looking for volunteers. This week and next especially with multiple trips to HAWS(Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha). If you have some time and could help........email Lori who runs the rescue.

This is Jethro. He arrived today and looks so much like Baxter. He is a little smaller and his grey fur has more of a brown shade to it. He is very shy today after his travels. We will update his listing as he settles in.
What a darling mama dog and pups. What work and what a rescue story. The pups are just three weeks old and their owner dropped them off at an Alabama shelter. Six of us volunteers worked for two hours picking fleas off of them tonight. We have four females and one male. I hope to crate a blog for them to show them growing. It will be linked to the mom's petfinder listing.
