Heartworm treatment....only one week to go!!!

With both Ringo and Kennedy, the same things occurred with treatment.  The first few days after the treatment, their hips were very sore from the injection.  They just did not feel well and did not move much or eat much.  This lasted about 4 days.  Then at about 1 week after treatment, they developed a cough that was almost like a gag cough.  Very easy to keep them on the low activity protocol these first two weeks as they just did not feel good.  By the third week, the cough was almost gone.  Interesting, also by the third week of rest, they both found some energy.  Ringo has a little pep to his step now.  He loves to entertain himself with toys especially chewing on toys with squeakers.  What a fun little boy.  Still trying to keep him on low activity for one more week. If the weather cooperates, we can start going on walks in the neighborhood.  So cute last night, my husband covered him up in a blanket on the couch and he snuggled in and did not move, he was all relaxed.
